Eight suspects have been detained in Libya in connection with the killing of a diplomat who served under Muammar Gaddafi, the late Libyan ruler. Human Rights Watch, the UK-based rights monitor, says Omar Brebesh was tortured to death by the revolutionary groups that overthrew Gaddafi last year. Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker reports from Zintan, whose chief prosecutor is investigating the death.

A woman is said to have turned up at the scene of the killings after a soothsayer said the killer would turn up. Wikileaks has obtained and decrypted this previously unreleased video footage from a US Apache helicopter in 2007. It shows Reuters journalist Namir Noor-Eldeen, driver Saeed Chmagh, and several others as the Apache shoots and kills them in a public square in Eastern Baghdad. The murder of Anuj Bidve, an Indian student who was gunned down at point blank range in northern England, has shocked the United Kingdom. Kiaran Stapleton, the 20-year-old man charged with the murder, gave his name as "Psycho" Stapleton in his first court appearance. Even so, police say the investigation is not yet over. Earlier, an award of $77500 had been announced for evidence used to secure a conviction.
